The Frontline Network are delighted to announce this online training Mental Health and Benefits, delivered by CPAG as part of our ongoing Outsourced Training programme.

Who can attend

Please be aware this training is exclusively offered to frontline workers supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in England and Wales.

Those who fall outside of the above criteria will not be able to attend this training event and any booking made will have to be returned.

Please ensure you have agreed time off for training with line manager in order to attend this event prior to registration.

About this course

This course provides a practical and tactical look at working with people with mental health diagnoses to help secure full entitlement to benefits, and to help avoid some of the pitfalls of the system.

The session will cover:

  • Common diagnoses, symptoms, medication, and side-effects
  • Barriers to people getting the right entitlement
  • Personal independence payment in a mental health context
  • Medical tests for universal credit and employment and support allowance
  • A basic knowledge of the benefits system is assumed.

Delivery

Session will be delivered over one day, from 10am to 4pm. Session will be delivered over Zoom.
