Museum of Homelessness in Belfast in June 2025

Wednesday, June 18, 2025 - 10:30:00 AM until 4:00:00 PM

The Museum of Homelessness team will be hosting two events on Wednesday 18th June at the Ulster Museum in Belfast:

Introducing the Dying Homeless Project (10.30am-12.30pm)

An informal gathering that will introduce the Museum of Homelessness and the Dying Homeless Project — a UK-wide initiative that honours the lives of people who die while homeless.

The session will be a relaxed opportunity for people working, volunteering or accessing support from statutory, voluntary and grassroots organisations in Northern Ireland to:

  • Meet some of the Museum of Homelessness crew
  • Hear about the Dying Homeless Project and how you can get involved
  • Share your insights, experiences and reflections about the issues facing people experiencing homelessness in Northern Ireland
  • View items from our collection, shared through Object Storytelling

Please contact matt@museumofhomelessness.org if you wish to attend this event.

Troubles and Beyond Gallery takeover (2pm - 4pm)

Join the Museum of Homelessness (MoH) for a gallery takeover that delves deep into the heart of homelessness by sharing stories from their collection past and present. If you have questions about the rise in homelessness, want to share an experience or are worried about the future, this event is for you.

Taking place in the Troubles and Beyond Gallery, the Museum’s objects will be shared by MoH's storyteller Lewis, with facilitation from MoH directors Matt and Jess Turtle. Part performance, part discussion, expect an interactive session with plenty to think about and take away about homelessness today.

This is a free drop-in event.

More information can be found on their website.
