Neurodiversity Awareness and Support (Scotland)

Thursday, January 29, 2026 - 9:30:00 AM until

This full-day online training session will help frontline workers understand how neurodivergence (such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more) intersects with trauma, mental health, substance use and housing instability – and what services can do to respond more effectively. At the end of the session you will:

  1. Understand key terms and concepts around neurodiversity
  2. Recognise how neurodivergence may present in clients
  3. Explore how trauma and homelessness impact neurodivergent individuals
  4. Learn how to identify masking, misdiagnosis, and unmet needs
  5. Reflect on how current systems may exclude or harm neurodivergent people
  6. Develop simple, adaptable approaches to create safer and more inclusive support

It will be an interactive session using the chat function, breakout rooms and other tools to encourage engagement. Spaces are limited, so please make sure you can attend on the day.

This event is hosted by the Scottish Frontline Network. We cover all costs associated with the training to offer it to frontline workers for free. The Scottish Frontline Network is facilitated by Cyrenians who are a partner of St Martin's Frontline Network. The Scottish Frontline Network supports those working on the frontline in Scotland with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
