Working Together – our vision to end homelessness – A snapshot of the VCSE homeless and rough sleepers sector in Brighton and Hove

In 2021, the VCSE Homeless and Rough Sleepers Network (HRSN) carried out an audit through their network members and the wider VCSE to develop an understanding of and raise awareness of the scale, scope and impact of the VCSE’s work and contribution towards preventing and reducing homelessness in Brighton and Hove.

44 organisations who work to support people experiencing homelessness in Brighton and Hove, representing a diverse cross section of the sector (large and small organisations, commissioned and non-commissioned), participated in a comprehensive survey to provide for the first time, an illuminative snapshot of the range of resources deployed within the sector.

“Working Together – our vision to end homelessness – A snapshot of the VCSE homeless and rough sleepers sector in Brighton and Hove” provides a library of information, statistics and key findings and identifies opportunities for the VCSE and statutory sector partners to work together strategically and operationally to amplify the resources within the sector in support of the local and national response to homelessness.

The report highlights  the importance of the VCSE working collaboratively with statutory and private sectors to bring together more rounded and integrated solutions, focused on the multiple contributing factors to homelessness.

There is a launch event for the report on:

11th July, 1pm-3pm at the Brighthelm Centre.
The event is aimed at senior leaders within organisations.
If this is you book your place here, or please do forward it to the relevant person within your  organisation.

At the same time, the HRSN will launch a refreshed VCSE HRSN members network that has undertaken to progress the report recommendations.

The network is now open for organisations to sign up to be part of a coalition of organisations working to end homelessness and strategically work alongside our statutory partners to do so. Your organisation can sign up here.

On behalf of the VCSE Homelessness and Rough Sleepers Network Steering Group.
