About this event
The Scottish Frontline Network and Crisis invite you to share your views on new proposed duties to prevent homelessness. Join us at this consultation event to learn more about the proposed legislation and discuss the potential impact on your role and the people you work with.
In line with manifesto commitments, the Scottish Government has committed to strengthen existing homelessness prevention legislation and introduce new duties on public bodies to prevent homelessness.
In December, the Scottish Government launched a consultation on introducing new legal duties to prevent homelessness, based on the recommendations of the Homelessness Prevention Review Group, convened by Crisis and chaired by Professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick.
This has the potential to be the biggest change to the homelessness system since priority need was abolished a decade ago, and to introduce truly world-leading homelessness legislation in Scotland.
Crisis and the Scottish Frontline Network want to ensure that the voices of those with frontline experience of delivering homelessness services are at the centre of the design of this new system. This event is your an opportunity to engage in the consultation and meet other frontline workers from across Scotland.
