Homelessness Prevention Practice in the Social Rented Housing Sector
Crisis, Cyrenians & the Scottish Frontline Network will be hosting a free webinar session for frontline staff supporting people in the social rented sector, exploring existing homelessness prevention practice.

- Thursday 2 March 2023
- Online

The Scottish Government plans to introduce new homelessness prevention duties as part of a forthcoming housing bill. The new duties will allow people to get help earlier – up to six months before they are at risk of homelessness – and require public bodies to ask about someone’s housing situation and then act to get them help if needed.
At this homelessness prevention event we want to:
- Share examples of existing practice & approaches within the sector
- Learn more about new or innovative prevention practice in your area
- Understand what changes are needed to enable earlier intervention and better joint-working practice in anticipation of the new duties
We would particularly like to hear from:
-
- Housing staff (Including housing assocations and local authority housing workers)
- Tenancy Support Officers/Income Maximisation Officers/Wellbeing Workers
- Tenant Group Members/Staff
- Peer workers/Navigators working with social renters
- Local Authority Homelessness/Housing Staff (Particularly those who liaise with social housing providers to support clients who are homeless/at risk of homelessness)
Third sector staff working in partnership with social housing providers
