End Furniture Poverty have recently spoken with the Frontline Network to discuss their important ongoing survey, seeking to understand the true ‘Social Value’ of furniture.

How do you think you would cope without a bed? Not just a night on the couch, but nowhere comfortable to sleep day after day. Imagine not having an oven. How would you feed your family affordable nutritious food with only a kettle and a microwave? You might be fortunate enough to be able to quickly replace items of furniture and white goods when something breaks or goes wrong, but this is the daily reality for many households living in Furniture Poverty. 

The End Furniture Poverty campaign was launched to research the issue of Furniture Poverty, in order to raise awareness, to educate people about the potential solutions to Furniture Poverty and, ultimately, to ensure that everyone has access to the essential furniture and goods they need to lead a secure life. 

End Furniture Poverty are excited to be working in partnership with Liverpool City Council to conduct a Social Return on Investment (SROI) study into the value of their Essential Items. Once complete, it will be better understood how much social value is created for every £1 spent on each of the items.

In order to maintain a high research quality, End Furniture Poverty require as many service users as possible to complete their survey here, to find out how much difference the furniture they have received has made to them.

If you provide furniture or grants to people in need, help clients or tenants to access furniture, or have received furniture yourself, then End Furniture Poverty need your help - you don’t have to operate in Liverpool!

Please share this with as many of your service users, frontline staff, partners and networks as possible.

All responses will be confidential and remain anonymous. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered, by End Furniture Poverty, into a prize draw to win a £250 gift voucher for a retailer of their choice.
