Housing First Scotland belongs to everyone who is helping Housing First become the first response for people whose homelessness is compounded by experiences such as trauma, abuse, addictions and mental ill health.  We are playing our part because we believe that most people can, with support, live and thrive in our local communities. 
 
Please see here for the first issue of Housing First Connect - a twice-yearly newsletter for Scotland’s new Housing First Pathfinders and Leaders. This includes an update from GHN’s recent Connect Event in Dundee on 28 November 2018, which brought together five Pathfinders for the first time to connect, inspire, and learn from one another. Opening remarks from Kevin Stewart MSP, Minster for Government, Housing and Planning, set out the vision of a Scotland with Rapid Rehousing and Housing First at its heart.
 
The event outlined: 
• 5 steps to a Housing First Scotland: 
• the need to keep the voice of lived experience central to Housing First developments,
• exploring collaboration via strategic operations, integrating strategy & commissioning frameworks, 
• exploring Housing First for Housing providers and how this works on the ground. 
 
Professor Sarah Johnsen of Heriot-Watt University and Claire Frew from the Homeless Network presented on how the Pathfinder Programme will be monitored and evaluated.
