The Frontline Network are delighted to offer through our Outsourced Training Programme this training session delivered by Homeless Link on Motivational Interviewing.

Please be aware this session is exclusively offered to frontline workers who support people experiencing homelessness and are based in the United Kingdom. If this criteria does not apply to your circumstances you will not be able to attend this event. A valid work email address will be required to attend this training event.

About this event

This course provides you with a valuable opportunity to explore, reflect and develop your practice in order to increase positive engagement with the people you support (or manage), helping them to make real and sustainable changes in their lives. It will introduce Motivational Interviewing (MI), the key principles, the core skills, and some useful tools to add to your toolbox.

Who is this course for?

  • Frontline staff, volunteers and managers working with people in the homelessness, supported housing, and related sectors

What will your team learn?

Through this course, your team will:

  • Understand Motivational Interviewing and its key principles
  • Develop their knowledge and understanding of how to support service users towards change and growth
  • Explore the change process and the role of ambivalence
  • Practice key tools and receive peer feedback
  • Reflect, refresh and add to their professional toolbox
  • Develop a personal action plans to support the transfer of learning into practice

Who Can Attend

This training opportunity if open to frontline workers who are based in the United Kingdom in positions supporting people experiencing homelessness.

All attending must register with their work email address for us to verify the above criteria. Registering using a personal email address will mean your ticket will be returned.

If tickets are sold out please add your name to the waiting list. With sufficient demand shown we may seek to rebook.

How will it be delivered?

This one-day course is free of charge to frontline workers resident in the UK who support people experiencing homelessness.

Start time will be 9.30am and finish is at 4pm. Please sign on around 10 minutes

You will receive joining links and any course materials at least the day ahead of training.

You will need access to a computer to attend. Sessions will be delivered via Zoom.
