Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training

Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training

Thursday, July 11, 2024

The Frontline Network and Homeless Link are delighted to offer this full day online training for frontline workers who support people experiencing homelessness focusing on how to support people with drug or alcohol issues.

This offer is only open to frontline workers who are in paid positions and support people experiencing homelessness.

You will be required to register using a valid work email address. If you are neither based in the UK nor currently employed as a frontline worker in a paid position supporting people experiencing homelessness, you will not be able to attend this training session.

Please ensure you have permission from line manager to attend this training.

Delivered by experienced trainers with a deep understanding of both the socio-economic factors contributing to homelessness and the complexities of drug/alcohol use. Participants will gain insights into the root causes of substance use among the homeless, explore key case studies, and acquire practical strategies for providing meaningful assistance and referrals to relevant support services.

On completion of this course, you will:

· Be aware of the history of substance use

· Understand the key legislation related to substance use

· Explore key case studies affecting our service users (including heroin, fentanyl/nitazenes, crack, synthetic cannabinoids [spice] and more)

· Explore and develop harm reduction approaches for those that we work with

· Explore further good practice, support and actions

Who Can Attend

This training programme is offered exclusively to those working in frontline positions supporting people who experience homelessness.

If your current role does not meet the criteria above, you will not be able to attend this training offer.
