Are you working towards ending rough sleeping and homelessness in East Sussex? If this is you in a paid or unpaid role, Homeless Link would like to invite you to an online event to explore collaboratively what might be needed locally to boost partnership working across the whole sector.

We are keen to welcome those from the grassroots and community sector, faith based projects, commissioned and non-commissioned services, local authorities and the wider voluntary sector. You might provide accommodation or day centre support, street based outreach and welfare interventions or engage with people through other means. Even if this is not formally part of your role but you would like to connect more with what is currently on offer then please do sign up.

We are also particularly keen for those with lived experience of homelessness to join us – from you we learn!

For this session, we are hosting Jon Kuhrt from the MHCLG – Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Jon is the Specialist Rough Sleeping Adviser for Faith and Community Groups and has a special interest in supporting areas to develop better partnership working and collaboration. Before this role, Jon spent 25 years working for faith-based homelessness charities.

Jon will offer a presentation to share his thoughts and experience and co facilitate a discussion on what might be the way forward for the county. This will be an opportunity for you to share what you think is working locally and where the gaps might be as well as collectively establish what the next steps are as we move forward out of Covid 19.

Your voice and participation are essential to this process if we are to make progress in ending homelessness and rough sleeping across East Sussex.

At this event Homeless Link would like to propose the forming of an East Sussex Single Homelessness Forum and are offering to coordinate and Chair this as it establishes. You can find out more about Homeless Link and our work HERE https://www.homeless.org.uk/  . There are many homelessness forums across the country and these provide exceptional opportunities for local partners to develop improved collaborative working, share good practice and maximise the outcomes for people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping.
