The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is a scheme run by local councils in England. It is designed to help low-income households who are experiencing a financial shock or cannot afford essential costs.
It was introduced in April 2026 to replace the Household Support Fund, and will be rolled out across local authorities by July 2026.
The Department for Work and Pensions has developed a toolkit of products for local authorities and organisations to raise awareness and help develop understanding of the CRF within your local communities.
The toolkit contains social media assets, suggested social media copy and downloadable posters to displayed in public facing locations.
What support is available?
The help available can vary from one local council area to another because councils decide how to run their own schemes. However, support will generally include access to:
- Crisis payments
- Housing payments
