The 2024 women’s rough sleeping census, taking place between 23rd and 29th September is designed to improve visibility and understanding of women who are experiencing high risk forms of homelessness, including those whose voices aren't usually heard.

The census aims to collect more comprehensive data on women experiencing rough sleeping and trial a different method of data collection.

You can find all the latest and updated information and resources on the census webpage. These include:

  • Recordings and slides of the recent training for outreach and non-outreach teams
  • Guidance on the census for outreach and non-outreach teams
  • 2024 information sheet
  • Census dates

If you’re taking part in the census in London:

  • Make sure to talk to your borough lead for information about volunteers and vouchers.
  • If your team is taking part in London, but you’re not sure who your borough lead is or how to get involved, please contact us on womens.census@solacewomensaid.org

If you’re taking part in the rest of England:

  • Your local organiser will be providing your local census resources: make sure you’re in touch with them to receive all the information you need.
  • A reminder that we need all new areas to let us know you’re taking part.

The last census was conducted in September 2023 in 41 local authorities across England and the full 2023 Women’s Rough Sleeping Census national report was published in May 2024.
