Leadership support from Homeless Link - apply by 31st October

Thursday, October 20, 2022

Leading teams and organisations can be tough, with the aftermath of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis bringing additional challenges.

By connecting and upskilling leaders across the homelessness sector, Homeless Link aim to create a resilient, dynamic and sustainable sector which is connected and collaborative in its approach to delivering change.

You can find an overview of leadership support available to staff in England from Homeless Link below, and further information on their website

What are we offering?

Our newly refreshed Leadership Support offer is designed to help established and emerging leaders affect change, understand their impact and achieve financial sustainability and organisational responsiveness.

Our core programmes will include masterclasses, workshops, action learning sets, mentoring, online networking and more. Delivery will be a mix of online and in person.

There will be a London and England cohort for each programme. Participant numbers will be limited, to maximise learning and build trust and relationships with one another.

Thanks to generous support from City of London Corporation’s charitable funder, City Bridge Trust and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), all places will be fully funded and therefore free-of-charge for participants.

Who is it for?

Our leadership initiatives are suitable for CEOs, senior and emerging leaders in organisations that support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Established Leaders is for CEOs (or equivalent) of homelessness organisations in England. Topics covered will be relevant to the current opportunities and challenges facing the homelessness sector, such as Leading an organisation people want to work for and Creating a robust organisation that thrives in difficult times. Masterclasses will be delivered by experts within the field, and action learning sets will allow time to reflect, and to support each other in how to put learnings into action. Find out more here.

Emerging Leaders is for service managers and heads of department from homelessness organisations of all sizes. The programme will equip participants with the skills and self-knowledge they need to be able to work in a demanding and ever-changing environment as ‘High Performing Leaders’. Find out more here.

Open-to-all events

A selection of events and webinars will be open-to-all, enabling a wider group of leaders and senior staff to learn more about particular topics of interest and hear from other leaders in the sector.

Topics will include Inclusive Leadership and Meaningful Co-production. Additional sessions will be planned based on emerging themes and topics.

Leadership Summit

We are once again hosting our two-day residential conference exclusively for senior leaders of homelessness or supported housing organisations. The 2022 Leadership Summit will take place in Ansty, Coventry, 1-2 December. This intimate event provides leaders in our sector with the time and space they need to reflect on their past year and plan for times ahead, learning from expert speakers as well as one another.

Coaching for leaders

Homeless Link’s coaching service is available to all staff working in homelessness or supported housing.

We encourage leaders to use our coaches to explore their own personal development in a safe, confidential space, as well as to put into practice or rehearse the learnings from the Leadership Programme.

Regional Leaders Forums

Exclusively for members, Homeless Link runs bi-annual forums at which CEOs and senior leaders are invited to join their regional Homeless Link Partnership Manager to discuss emerging issues and themes.

These are hosted online, and provide a forum to share information, learn more about Homeless Link’s strategic priorities in the area, and gain support and assistance from peers. The next Forums will take place in November 2022.

Find out more by contacting the Partnership Manager for your region from the National Partnerships team.
