Frontline Network & Homeless Link Joint Away Day

Frontline Network & Homeless Link Joint Away Day

Frontline Network & Homeless Link Joint Away Day

Monday, October 28, 2024

On Wednesday 23rd October, we hosted an inspiring away day with our Frontline Network Partners across the four nations, along with the Homeless Link Partnerships Team. The day focused on exchanging insights, building connections and strengthening collaborative ways of working.

Self-Assessment Toolkit Presentation

Chrystalla Karvella from Homeless Link opened the day with a presentation on the Homelessness Partnership Self-Assessment Toolkit. This toolkit enables strategic leaders across the sector to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of their local homelessness services.

“I believe the toolkit can be used by as many groups, networks in the sector and is very flexible to adapt to meet the need of the group that is using it. It gave us the chance to spread the word and discuss this in more detail. The presentation was greatly received and colleagues found it helpful and inspiring. We are as a collective determined to create stronger networks and partnerships, supporting our frontline workers and strategic partners.” - Chrystalla Karvella, Partnership Manager (London) at Homeless Link

Collaborative Efforts and Regional Insights

We then heard from Sirea Jabar (Partnership Manager Yorkshire & Humber, North East, Lancashire & Cumbria at Homeless Link) and Kim Hughes (Frontline Network Coordinator at Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Frontline Network). They spoke about their effective collaboration, including the challenges they faced, their successes and vision for the future.

Gathering Data to Inform Homelessness Insights

Steven Barkess from Homeless Link then presented an overview of intelligence gathering and reporting, describing the picture across the four nations. This was followed by a breakout discussion to identify opportunities to influence and respond to local issues.

“Today provided a rare opportunity for our two organisations to come together, share our challenges and successes, reflect on current and future collaborative approaches and focus on how our organisations, as membership bodies, will continue to support the sector as influencers and advocators. As a collective we have strength in numbers, and this is our gift! I look forward to future events where we can continue this vital sharing of knowledge, expertise and passion.” - Steven Barkess, Partnership Manager (West Midlands & North West) at Homeless Link

A big thank you to everyone who attended our joint away day with Homeless Link. Days like this are invaluable for aligning our efforts and reinforcing our shared commitment to supporting those experiencing homelessness.
