Frontline homelessness workers influence action in Wales

In Wales, the Ending Homelessness National Advisory Board has recently published its Annual Report, which reflects on the progress made against the Welsh Government’s Ending Homelessness Action Plan.
The report makes several references to frontline workers in Wales, including in the Chair’s foreword. The section on legislative reform focuses on the work of the Expert Review Panel and mentions the panel’s engagement with frontline workers via the Frontline Network Wales. The impact of real terms budget cuts on staff salaries is addressed in the section on strengthening housing support services, with references to data from the Frontline Network Wales report ‘Struggles from the Frontline’, which highlights the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on frontline homelessness and housing support staff. The section dedicated to the workforce mentions frontline workers in several places and there are further references to ‘Struggles from the Frontline’.
The Frontline Network Wales has had a significant influence on this task and finish group, with report outlining the work being taken forward on pay and support systems for staff.
