Rolling out the COVID-19 vaccine in your homelessness service

Groundswell has launched new guidance for frontline workers in the homelessness sector.

Groundswell has collated experiences of ‘what works’ when rolling out the COVID-19 vaccine in your service. Information is summarised in a short film (below), as well as in an accompanying guide. The resources aim to provide simple and practical advice given by people who have been working on the vaccine rollout to people experiencing homelessness and people affected by homelessness themselves.

Topics covered include:

  • How to talk about the vaccine
  • How to communicate the rollout in your service
  • Things to consider around use of language, accessibility, and preparation

Groundswell has also created resources for people experiencing homelessness. 

Information leaflets for people experiencing homelessness are available written in multiple languages, including Polish, Romanian, Turkish, Amharic, Arabic and Tigrinya. Resources can be printed and posted to frontline services for free.

Groundswell has also launched a joint campaign with young people's charity St Basil's, to encourage vaccine uptake among young people experiencing homelessness. This has been coproduced with young people who have been affected by homelessness in the past. The key messages, posters, digital assets and more can be accessed for free here.
