THE BIG DIFFERENCE SCHEME

The Big Difference Scheme is open to all Severn Trent Water customers who are in receipt of a low income and struggling to pay their water charges.
If eligible for the scheme, applicants could receive up to 90% off the average Severn Trent Water bill – that could mean a saving of more than £200 per year!
If the applicant has a child who is eligible for income based free school meals, it is likely they will qualify for a reduction.

Applications are assessed against household income thresholds therefore; income received from all adults living at the property should be declared (all adults over 18).
Proof of ALL household income is required to verify the amounts declared. The following can be accepted as evidence: recent pay slips, bank statements and benefit award letters as evidence. If the applicant is in receipt of Universal Credit, they must provide a full breakdown showing how it is calculated.
To apply for a reduction the applicant will need to visit our online portal - www.bigdiff.co.uk

Once the application has been submitted, it will be assessed against the set criteria and the applicant will be informed of the decision by email or post.
