An interactive training and discussion workshop for people who work with and support asylum seekers and refugees in West London. To build knowledge and practice with hands-on staff, leaders and volunteers in public, voluntary or community services and support.
Nearest Train West Drayton, 10 mins walk. Buses from Hounslow, Hayes, Uxbridge.

Topics which will be covered:
- Essential definitions, entitlements, information,
- What are your priorities? What do you want and need to know?
- Understanding the issues that refugees and asylum-seekers face,
- Considering other migration issues, related to supporting AS&R,
- Language, interpreting, communication and engaging people,
- Sharing experience, best practice/priorities for practice, ideas for action,
- Also sources of support, referral and services, further professional devt.
- This workshop might address issues that can be upsetting.

All welcome. Due donations partly raised at the previous workshop in December, we are able to offer places free to REAP Members, Yiewsley Home Group members, residents of UB7 and some volunteers and community-level and voluntary sector staff from other areas. Please contribute £25 if you can, or consider what you could contribute so we can keep these workshops running. Maximum of 28 places.
