The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) has published the revised National Guidance on Migrants’ Rights and Entitlements to Local Authority Support on the COSLA Migration Scotland website.
The Update
- This update was developed with JustRight Scotland and forms part of the joint work between COSLA and Scottish Government under the 2021-24 Ending Destitution Together Strategy.
- It seeks to ensure that Scottish local authorities have the information they need to fulfil their statutory duties and to extend provision of support for people with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) to maximum effect.
Additional Resources
COSLA has also published a Migrants’ Rights and Entitlements webinar series for councils, on the Migration Scotland website.
- The webinar was designed as a legacy resource for Scottish councils and complements the National Guidance on Migrants’ Rights and Entitlements.
- This resource was developed in partnership with JustRight Scotland and Media Education and is designed to improve the skills and confidence of frontline Scottish local authority staff and to raise the awareness and understanding of migrants’ rights and entitlements to access support.
