Frontline Worker Survey 2022 - now open!

Monday, November 28, 2022

Listening to lived and frontline experience is crucial to addressing homelessness. Now is the time to join hundreds of colleagues across the UK and have your say on some of the key issues you are witnessing in your work to help inform action to ensure that suitable, secure, affordable housing is available to all.

So why not make yourself a cuppa and take a moment to share your insights & experiences?

➡️ Go straight to the survey or read on to learn more...

Eligibility ✅

We are looking to gather responses from people who are:

  • Frontline workers, directly supporting people experiencing homelessness.
  • Paid employees or volunteers working in the public, statutory or voluntary sector.
  • In a role such as outreach, housing, social work, health, or probation.
  • Based in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

What does the survey ask? 🗨️

There are five pages of questions, starting with some basic information about your role and your organisation, and then exploring your insights into addressing homelessness, the impact of rising cost of living, and lastly your experiences of frontline work.

Questions with a * are compulsory, questions without can be skipped if they are not relevant to you or you do not have comments to share. We estimate the survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Results will be anonymous. You can view our privacy notice here. If you choose to name an organisation as an example of best practice, we may follow up with this organisation to confirm if they are happy for us to reference them when sharing our findings.

What happens to the survey results? 💡

We conduct this annual survey to amplify the voices of frontline staff and help inform policy and practice when it comes to homelessness.

Last year 826 frontline workers responded to the survey and we used the findings to:

  • Publish a 38 page report sharing insights and experiences of staff with decisionmakers around homelessness.
  • Inform our responses to various relevant Government consultations across the UK as well as calls to evidence from All Party Parliamentary Groups.
  • Shape the design of our Annual Conference for frontline workers, including the choice of free training sessions and expert speakers.
  • Identify priority areas for our work moving forward, including a focus on improving access to mental health support for people facing homelessness and improving staff training and the wellbeing of frontline workers.

To receive a copy of the results once the 2022 Survey closes, make sure to subscribe to our Frontline Network mailing list

How to take part 💻

You can complete the survey online here.

The deadline for submitting your response is Friday 9th December.

Spread the word 📨

Thank you for taking the time to share your insights and experiences! We would be grateful if you could spread the word amongst colleagues in the sector who may also be interested in participating in the survey.
