LGBTQI+ people are disproportionately represented among those experiencing homelessness. Recent research by CACHE found that 1 in 5 LGBTQI+ adults surveyed had experienced homelessness at some point in their life (by statutory definition).
This session addressed some of the issues unique to LGBTQI+ homelessness and explored how to make services more inclusive. It featured a combination of presented information, chaired conversation and audience Q&A, including spotlights on akt’s Trans Pathway, Micro Rainbow’s work with LGBTQI+ asylum seekers, and Tonic Housing’s provision for older LGBTQI+ people.
