London Day Centre’s Community of Practice: What just happened? What Now?

Two session available on the 14th July 2020

Register HERE for the 14:00 – 15:30 session

You are welcome to attend both sessions though these will run to the same format.

We will explore:

  • How have you adapted both in the provision of your service and personally?
  • What has Covid-19 taught you? Has it changed your perspective?
  • How do we move forward in the capitals day centres and what support do you need to make this possible?

These are strange times full of sadness, anxiety and distress. But does Covid-19 provide us with some unexpected opportunities? Has the world of homeless day centres changed forever or will we return to business as usual?

This Community of Practice will be a space to reflect, a chance to hear how others have adapted to the current crisis across the city and a forum for exploring how we take the steps forward to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness, our teams and ourselves. What will you do?

Homeless Link Communities of Practice (CoP’s) are designed to bring together people working on the frontline of homelessness and related fields within local areas. The aim is to create a safe and informal space in which attendees can share knowledge and good practice, discuss local issues and explore how best to collaboratively overcome them.

The London Day Centre’s Community of Practice is open to staff from London day Centres and those from affiliated services such as homeless health workers, probation, the police, the DWP, Social Enterprises, work and learning support projects and mental health services.

We also have Communities of Practice for London Outreach Workers and for London Supported Accommodation and Resettlement Workers. Please feel free to circulate these amongst your teams as appropriate.

Our CoPs are open to paid and unpaid workers and to people with lived experience of homelessness.
