About Event
Supporting people with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) in London.
People with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) are at high risk of homelessness and destitution because they cannot access mainstream housing and welfare benefits, and are usually not permitted to undertake employment. While this client group forms only a small proportion of clients accessing services , many more are ‘hidden homeless’ , and the small number of services offering specialist support experience high levels of demand.
Join us to explore what is out there that can help Outreach Workers to support people at this vulnerable state. During the event, we will hear from specialist organisations but also there will be an opportunity to share good practice and learn from each other.
A Community of Practice is a group of people with shared passion and expertise who come together to share their experiences of frontline working. A true community of practice will work with a solution focus, with the aim of addressing challenges raised by doing something about them. The solution might be a small adjustment to a style of working, or it may be something bigger and more structural. Your learning and insights from the work that is done on a day-to-day basis will help inform potential solutions. Come and join us!
You get the chance to meet others doing the same work as you, in the same city; the opportunity to share and talk openly about challenges and frustrations, and to use the commonality of experience to think about practical, actionable solutions.
The event is FREE and will include lunch, networking, a good opportunity to meet with peers across London and start exploring solutions to the challenges faced on a daily basis.
