Do you support people with unsettled immigration status with deteriorating or advanced ill health? Share your insights by participating in a focus group.

This is a collaborative project being led through the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department at UCL and supported by charities that are interested in helping to improve the lives of people who are homeless: Pathway, The Oak Foundation and Marie Curie.

We are working on a project exploring the challenges for people with unsettled immigration status who are unwell and have deteriorating health (in particular, those who are migrants, destitute and experiencing homelessness).

We hope this work will evidence some of the significant gaps and barriers within the system, enhance understanding by politicians, commissioners and providers of services and support efforts to advocate for change.

Take a look at the project information sheet here.

How to get involved

We will be running 2 -3 focus groups so if you are interested, please pick all dates that work for you from the doodle poll.

Each person will only be needed for one group. The group will last for 90 minutes. In the discussion we will explore the challenges that you and people you work with have experienced in accessing support. We would also be very grateful if you could let us know whether any of the people that you support might be open to being interviewed about their experiences of accessing support, for the research project.

If you don’t have time to participate in any of the dates shown, but would like to, do let us know as we could run separate interviews.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions about this project or would like to discuss it further: caroline.shulman1@nhs.net
