'A Benchmark of Support'

Read the latest blog written by Kate Standing (Brighton and Hove Frontline Network Coordinator), which discusses frontline worker wellbeing, and the feasibility of a ‘benchmark of support’ for employers in the sector:

One year ago, the Brighton and Hove Frontline Network facilitated an event which explored the experience of death as a frontline worker, but more importantly as a human being.

Co-planned with colleagues from Martlets Hospice and the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, this event gave space to have conversations with other frontline workers – facilitated sensitively by people with experience in talking about death.

Many who attended this event wanted to explore further the wellbeing of workers supporting those experiencing homelessness.

A year on, the Brighton & Hove Frontline Worker Wellbeing Group has been created.

Open to anyone working in the sector, the aim of this group is to influence and encourage employers in the sector, to ensure the wellbeing of their workforce. The group wants employers to implement best practice and commit to continual improvement.

We are also looking to explore the feasibility of creating and maintaining a benchmark of support for employers in the sector.

To do this, we want to identify what support frontline workers currently have in the sector locally, and highlight what workers say they find most helpful in terms of support. We are also compiling resources and examples of good practice as we discover them along the way.

Wellbeing Survey

With the help of those at the national Frontline Network Team, we have developed a short survey looking at what support/supervision workers are getting locally and what they find most useful.

Completing this survey will help identify examples of best practice to share with and encourage employers and decision makers.

You can complete the survey here.

It is live from 28th January - 14th February.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey – the results will be anonymous.
