To help clients with their utility bills by supplying gas/electric vouchers so people can afford to keep warm over the winter.

Currently people are only eligible for winter warmers help if they already receive Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, and/or Universal Credit.

We are constantly receiving calls and visits to the drop-in from people whose benefits have been changed, not paid, or stopped; or individuals on work experience/starting a new job who cannot afford to pay their utility bills.

They withhold paying rent in order to keep warm and cook food for their family, and are consequently being threatened with eviction.

We would like to be able to supply gas/electric vouchers of an amount enough to keep them going until their benefits are sorted or they have their first wage.

We will research food banks to see how many people they are currently helping each week with utility bills.
