    Ask a question

  • Our forum’s a space to connect with other frontline workers, ask questions and share advice. It’s the perfect place for you to share the issues you face every day in your work. What are you waiting for? Say hello!

  • We have laid out our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice separately on the site and you will be asked to agree to these if you would like to register as a user of the Frontline Network. The main purpose of these policies is to ensure that we are able to provide a forum which offers frontline workers a supportive and considerate environment, and allows us to take action if anyone breaches these terms.

Given the real-time nature of the forum we are unable to keep a constant check on the content and so are not responsible for any content posted or the consequences of any content posted. If you have concerns about information being posted please don’t hesitate to notify us at frontline@stmartinscharity.org.uk or if you think there is a serious breach of terms, use the ‘Report Abuse’ option next to the post.

If any of the Terms and Condition’s are breached, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your registration with immediate effect.

The forum is provided as part of the Frontline Network site to further the vision of building links between frontline workers and facilitating the sharing of knowledge in order to improve outcomes for homeless and vulnerably housed people. If your registration is approved, your use of the forum is on the understanding that anything you post is in the context of supporting frontline workers working with people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.

Lastly, we hope that the forum is useful and that it is able to support the work that you do! As a new venture, we are open to suggestions of what you think works and what you think doesn’t – so please feel free to email us any comments at frontline@stmartinscharity.org.uk

Note: We do not under any circumstances accept registrations from individuals seeking support about their own situations.

Hi there Don't know if anyone can help me. I am trying to access funds to help a client file for bankruptcy, I need to raise £680 as soon as possible. I have been to C.A.B, tried British Gas who is his Mother's energy supplier (he lives with her), and looked at The turn to Us website. I am struggling to find something that meets the criteria. He has no previous occupation to speak of. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thankyou

Hi, will the VRF be reinstating its grant for help with setting up home once the Glasspool pilot scheme has come to an end or will Glasspool be extending it's scheme? Thanks in advance for any help with this

Does any body know of a way of obtaining gurantors for tenancies? We are finding it to be a particular problem, here in North Wales, we have landlords more than willing to take our service users but the issue around gurantors, they can't.

Mayday Trust's Paddy Bates has written in our News and Views section on the Personal Transitions Service (PTS), the first strength based model for people experiencing homelessness. We were keen to develop a dialogue with frontline workers on this issue.: - What are your views on asset based models? - Have you used / are you using an asset based model? - If you are using an asset based model in your organisation, what is your experience of using the model?

Hi, We look to apply for help with deposits and rent in advance to work related benevolent funds. Many clients do not have proof of this work. We have applied to hmrc but get sent tax and ni history rather than work history. Can anyone advise on best way to get a simple work history from hmrc?
