Tuesday 26 September 2017

9.30am to 1pm

CFCCA, Market Buildings, Thomas Street, Manchester M4 1EU

Do you work for a frontline homelessness organisation or with destitute migrants?

Are you working on the frontline with rough sleepers from other countries?

Would you like to meet other professionals and share your experiences?

Come and take part in a unique free frontline practitioner event, where you can feed your ideas into new projects, and hear about exciting new ideas in this field. This session will explore what is involved in getting mentoring and befriending programmes going and making them successful. As well as hearing from speakers involved in delivering and establishing mentoring and befriending programmes, there will be plenty of time to share ideas and apply learnings to your own projects.

This Community of Practice is facilitated by Homeless Link for frontline practitioners from both the refugee and homelessness sector across Greater Manchester. All are welcome so please feel free to invite colleagues, volunteers or experts by experience who may be interested in the topic.

The Community of Practice is delivered in partnership with the Strategic Alliance on Migrant Destitution, a cross sector alliance working to deliver closer partnership working between the migrant and homelessness sector, in order to tackle migrant destitution.

This is not a training course, but an interactive session in which your ideas will take centre stage.

The purpose of the Community of Practice is to:

  • Create solutions for local issues

  • Share skills, knowledge and experience

  • Empower each other to bring about change

  • Enhance cross sector knowledge

There is no charge to attend this event due to funding.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Full details for the event and registration is via the Eventbrite website
