    Ask a question

  • Our forum’s a space to connect with other frontline workers, ask questions and share advice. It’s the perfect place for you to share the issues you face every day in your work. What are you waiting for? Say hello!

  • We have laid out our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice separately on the site and you will be asked to agree to these if you would like to register as a user of the Frontline Network. The main purpose of these policies is to ensure that we are able to provide a forum which offers frontline workers a supportive and considerate environment, and allows us to take action if anyone breaches these terms.

Given the real-time nature of the forum we are unable to keep a constant check on the content and so are not responsible for any content posted or the consequences of any content posted. If you have concerns about information being posted please don’t hesitate to notify us at frontline@stmartinscharity.org.uk or if you think there is a serious breach of terms, use the ‘Report Abuse’ option next to the post.

If any of the Terms and Condition’s are breached, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your registration with immediate effect.

The forum is provided as part of the Frontline Network site to further the vision of building links between frontline workers and facilitating the sharing of knowledge in order to improve outcomes for homeless and vulnerably housed people. If your registration is approved, your use of the forum is on the understanding that anything you post is in the context of supporting frontline workers working with people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.

Lastly, we hope that the forum is useful and that it is able to support the work that you do! As a new venture, we are open to suggestions of what you think works and what you think doesn’t – so please feel free to email us any comments at frontline@stmartinscharity.org.uk

Note: We do not under any circumstances accept registrations from individuals seeking support about their own situations.

Hi everyone, Miles Irving, one of the UK’s leading foragers https://www.forager.org.uk/ is interested in creating space for people experiencing homelessness to learn to forage from a practical eating point of view but also a metal wellbeing point of view. Is this is something your projects would be interested in I can introduce you, or do you know any projects that would be interested please let me know. Thanks, Simon Gale, Justlife

Mornlng all, I've already mentioned on the Forum that brain injury may affect people in different ways. When I deliver training I sometimes use video to help people see what changes in behaviour may look like. Today I am posting some links to videos that may help you, but firstly remember every brain injury is different and people are individual in their responses, recovery and support so these videos show some of the situation for the people in them and do not represent everyone. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b07c6fjk/louis-theroux-a-different-brain - This is a link to Louis Therou...

Hi, a partner has quite specific interest and knowledge in the issue of hoarding. They were most interested to hear that VRF offer grants to support with this, and would like to know if there are any forums nationally that they could get involved in to share best practice, resources etc. Does anyone know of anything specific to this issue? Many thanks

Hi All, Just wanted to share an observation and ask for any support / guidance in how we maybe able to monitor this and move forward for families on a low income. I am a Frontline Worker in refuge and have noted that families on a full monthly UC claim are struggling to purchase within an effective timescale treatments for basic Childhood ailments - we have noted an increase in head-lice and threadworm outbreaks within our HMO. Whilst we have been able to obtain free scripts from the GP - we are very conscious that we are having to access emergency GP appointments for children that previous...

I'm a DV Outreach and Family Support Worker at a Women's Refuge in Lancashire and am researching what training is available to workers when dealing with over 55's age bracket? If any area is running any schemes that target this age group I'd really appreciate any support. or advice. Thanks
